Author's highly-aclaimed debut which was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, 2006 and won a 2006 Somerset Maugham Award. Published for general release in paperback only, this is one of only 500 hardbacks produced exclusively for Goldsboro Books in London and, as it was published about a month before the general release, this is the true first edition. Numbered 82/500. Two copies of this book were lined for us by Chris at the book launch and, as far as we know, there are only 3 copies like this in existence. With author's 'thank you' slip inserted. The film, starring Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams was released in the UK on 24 October 2008.
