Self-published by Mount in 2003 before being taken-up by Faber & Faber, who published their paperback edition in 2003. The film rights to Shadowmancer were sold to Universal for £2.5m in 2004 and it is believed that Mel Gibson will be asked to direct the film when it goes into production. It is also thought that Donald Sutherland will be asked to play the Rev Demurral.
